I work in Raleigh, live in benson. As far as equipment right now I only have a brew bucket to see how that works. My first project is some peach brandy (really wine because I will not distill it seeing it is illegal)
Welcome to HomebrewTalk. There's quite a NC contingent on here, many of us in or near the Triangle. When you get a chance, go down to the Brewing Events & Local Gatherings forum and search for GRABASS (Greater Raleigh Area Brewers and Suds Sippers).
