I've used the same gelatin process with sucess for several batches. My standard process is to let one packet of gelatin bloom for an hour in a cup of room temp water. From there, I would heat to 180 and then cool to about 80. Three days later the keg was as clear as could be.
Since I had to mess with a good thing, i tried something different based on a recent thread. I bloomed one packet, heated to 160, and added to the keg with no cooling. Three days later, the keg was as cloudy as the day I kegged.
Any ideas on what happened? And, can I introduce a second round gelatin with no issues? The beer was an all grain pale ale that I've brewed a dozen times with no gelatin clearing issues. I do recall never having a good hot break, but wonder if that would cause the problem?
Thanks in advance.
