Fridge Fermentation Question

How come someone could not just turn down the temp on a fridge and use fermwrap the keep the temp where it needs to be?

Just guessing here... and my memory does fail me often lately, but aren't most fridges set up to maintain less than 50 deg. F? Even on the warmest setting wouldn't it would still be to cold for even a lager?
