Bought some 2 row and used up some extra grains/hops I had lying around. What did I make? I was thinking along the lines of a pale ale, but it turned out pretty dark. Not-so-pale ale maybe :D

10 lbs Pale Malt (2 Row)
1 lbs Caramel/Crystal Malt - 60L
4.0 oz Caramel/Crystal Malt - 20L

0.75 oz Chinook [11.00 %] - Boil 60.0 min - 26.8 IBUs
0.50 oz Cascade [8.90 %] - Boil 15.0 min - 7.2 IBUs
0.50 oz Cascade [8.90 %] - Boil 5.0 min - 2.9 IBUs

Danstar Nottingham

OG was 1.054

I get 9.8 SRM for a 5.5 gal batch, well within the American Pale Ale range of 5-14 SRM.

37 IBU, well within the APA range of 30-45 IBU.

1.054, well within the APA range of 1.045 - 1.060.

American hops, well distributed between bitter, flavor, aroma.

You made an American Pale Ale.

Throwing it into iBrewmaster it falls into the range for an English Pale Ale Extra Special/Strong bitter. Whatever it is, it's still beer! Enjoy!

Pulled a sample for a gravity reading today and it was a lot lighter than I thought. Always seems darker in the fermenter. This stuff won't last...tastes great warm and flat :mug:
