I recently discovered that the Journal of the Institute of Brewing is freely available with only a one year embargo http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/journal/10.1002/(ISSN)2050-0416. The journal goes right back to the late 19th century but is also bang up to date with brewing science.

Most of the recent stuff is way to technical for me but there are some interesting review articles, looking back at developments in this or that field.

The old articles are fascinating both for the science, which is often a bit easier to understand and the historical interest.

Enjoy!

I ready this journal weekly and love that many of the articles can be downloaded for free. I think many of the research articles are thought provoking and backed up by real objective data. I think everyone should be reading one journal article a week. You will become a much better brewer.
