Hey All,

So I pitched what was supposed to be a Hefeweizen tonight but, noticing how dark the wort looked, realized I made a critical error.

The recipe called for around 7lbs of Wheat extract and 1lb of light pale extract which put me at an OG of 1.078 rather than the intended ~1.048

So what do I have now? It's got all the ingredients of a hefe, but will have far too high an alcohol content to meet the BJCP standard for the style.

What is it that you are sayng? You followed the recipe but used DME instead of LME?
Clear, concise information is most useful.

Wouldn't give it a second thought. Probably the best beer you'll ever make.

"Oops!" Imperial Hefeweizen, I like it!

Thing is fermenting with quite some vigor now, those liquid yeast smack packs seem to pack more of a punch than your standard packet of dry yeast
