So I took a shot at my first mead about 9 months ago. Got some fresh Orange Muscat juice from a local winery and went at it. OG was 1.118 and FG was .996. Done with WLP001

Very happy with the end result dry and crisp with hints of orange and honey. Going to sit the batch and done half as a still and half as a sparkling. I like this mead thing

Wow over 15.5% ABV with an ale yeast. I have seen threads about that yeast and people have only tried to get it up to just over 12%. But that is ale vs mead for ya.

Glad it worked out well for you. Have another batch in mind?
