Nine poles in the ground. This year I'm doing three rows of 16 per row. Cascade, centennial and nugget. These are on Seneca lake in ny so any homebrewers in the fingerlakes are will have first access to fresh hops this year if they want.

They're locust trees. We chose them because they were already on the farm and resistant to rot. It's what they used to use in the vineyard before pressure treated posts were invented.
 
I'm curious if they would be cheaper than the pressure treated posts were ordering. I've read the locust wood is beneficial to soil nitrogen levels, and isn't toxic like the pressure treated counterpart. Does anyone know of its availability in California?
