So I was thinking about building the son of a fermentation chiller which uses extruded polystyrene foam board. For chilling it uses frozen 2-liter bottles. For hearing I was thinking about using a FermoTemp fermentation heater. Would there be fire concerns with the fermotemp and the foam board? The directions found online say not to use a heating source inside...but I can tell if that because it will go up in flames or if the original creator of this chamber is just covering his butt. Anyone use a similar set-up? I will be using an ink bird temp controller I got for Christmas. I know just getting a fridge or freezer would be easier but I’m cheap.... currently I use a plastic tote, fish tank heater, and submerge my fermenter in water.
