Fermawrap

So i got a fermawrap the other day and hooked it up to my ranco controller.
It doesnt seem to be warm evenly across the wrap. Is this damaged? If so im sending it back to morebeer.

Is this normal operation for the unit?
I placed the probe on the outside of the fermentor just to check to see if placment helped. The spot i placed it on the outside of my fermentor got really warm where i placed it. But the rest of the unit seems to be unevenly heating.

Hope its not broke, my saison wont be the same.

Are you saying it's hotter in one area than another? I know there are spots where there won't be heat, but as far as I can remember it was pretty even, but not exactly even...How many degrees off are we talking?

one area is warm to the touch, the others dont feel warm at all.
using my ir temp on my thermal probe we are talking 6-7 degrees difference.

Its advertises as even heat.
