I measured and ground my grains last night, all 19.25lbs of them. (10 gal batch)
At 7:00 I fired up the new electric brew kettle and heated my strike water.
I used hot filtered tap water, so it only took 15min to reach my strike.
Mashed in and let it sit for an hour.
Heated my sparge water, one large batch sparge, 7.5 gal of it!
Took another 15 min.
Sparged into buckets, and lifted the buckets back into the electric kettle.
Boiling again in less than 20 min! 11 gal boil!
Boiled for an hour then used the plate chiller for the first time.
Wow! Ready to pitch in another 15 min. Using nothing more than gravity to move the wort.
Pitched and cleaned up and was done by 11:00am
10 gallons in 4 hours!
