Recently, I have been maximising my brewing output by boiling ± 49 L in a 50 L pot.
I achieve this by using foam control plus I position a small fan over the boil kettle. This allows me to really fill the boil kettle to near the very top, thus getting max volume out of my 50 L HERMS system
Boil off rate seems about there same and temp on the BK temp gauge is about the same.
Are there any down sides to the fan ? I was thinking along the lines of maybe because of the fan, I'm not boiling off the things that may need to be boiled off during the boil.
Your thoughts ?
