False bottom failure

My homemade f/b failed in my mashtun and some grains got pumped through
to the boil kettle. It is a 10 gal batch of ale and maybe a handfull of grain got through witch was in there for the full 60 min boil. I dont think its that big of a deal. Has this happened to anyone else?

Did you vorlauf first to set the grain bed?

Yes I did the vorlauf. the f/b bent when I was stirring the mash. Just wondering if the grains that got through to the boil kettle hurt anything.

Not likely, a handful of grain doesn't seem like a big deal to me.

People boil a portion of the mash doing a decoction, fwiw.
