This weekend I will be brewing my first batch on my new brew kettle. It is a 15.5 gal sanke keg converted to a kettle. I do not know what the evaporation rate will be for this keggle. I could do a test boil but honestly I don't feel like taking the time to do it. I know these keggles are popular so I am sure I will get an answer. Thank goodness for homebrew talk.

On dry days (I don't live in a humid area) in the winter, I boil off 2 gallons an hour. In the summer, it's more like 1.5 gallons per hour.

But it really depends on your climate, and the burner you have.

I'm observed numbers more like Yooper has. About 1.75-2 gal per hour. But I live where humidity is only around 60% most of the time. And my boil is usually really rolling
