The first time I took 4th place for my category...So I didn't get a dopey plastic gold medal or anything cool...But we did manage to beat out 15 other applicants.

This year I feel pretty good. I think I'm going to enter with a traditional dry stout category. It hope the judges will rate me higher this year. I'm determined to take a medal this year...

Oooh and to tell to the guys with the expensive three tiered setups I did it all on an electric stove...Ahhh I hope get the glory this year.

With any luck the 3.5 abv beer will come across as complex and stout like.

Good luck, man. I took third place with my amber in American Ales in my first comp this last year. I hope to do better in the next one. Oh, and my expensive all grain, 3 tier system involves one propane burner, a 10 gallon rubbermaid cooler, and a picnic table :D
