I am brewing an all-grain this morning with 31 lbs of grain. My Mash Tun holds only 14 gal...my calculations using a 1.3qt per lb. of grain = 10.075 gal.
Can this mash be done with only one step or do I need to split it, etc.?
This may be similiar to the 'double batch' thread below.
I only have one propane available to me at the moment or I would just split it with a different burner.

Thanks.

I also need to remember that the calculation does not include the empty space below the false bottom. I ended up with all the grain and 12 gal H2O into the mash tun. Thanks, all went fine. Split my batch into two similar beers with different yeasts for some fun.
