I was in the process of making of an American style cream ale, using White Labs WLP001 It is slow in starting (in a flask) so I am thinking of using Plan B, some dry yeast I happen to have. I have a Nottingham, and a Muntons, neither of which have designation on them, so I dont know what type of ale it might make. So will my ale come out darker, heavier tasting as compared to the WLP001 from White Labs?

thanks

Nottingham's a fine replacement for WLP001. Clean with high attenuation, just like the White Labs yeast. In fact, I would be inclined to only use Nottingham (or Safale S-05, a dry strain with similar characteristics as well) any time I just wanted a clean ferment.
