I'll be a first time brewer tomorrow when my mr beer kit arrives. I've done some searches on this but haven't gottn a clear answer. From what i'm reading, after the initial fermentation you can move the beer to another container to allow it to clear. what is the benefit of this other than the how the beer looks.

thanks

thats about it, its called "secondary fermentation" but theres no fermentation going on. Its just a refining/clearing step that supposedly helps the beer mature before bottling/kegging. But a lot of brewers, such as myself just do extended primary fermentation with great results.
