Specifically Diammonium Phosphate.

I am thinking of ways to reduce fermentation time (for Ed's Apfelwein), since my buddies love it so much...

I've read that apple juice contains very little FA Nitrogen which is one of the reasons it ferments longer.

Can I just throw in some DAP without boiling, or do I have to boil some water (then cool it down) before adding it to the must (avoiding to boil or heat apple juice for pectic haze)?
