Does fruit need to be sanitized for a hydromel?

I have only made 3 meads so far. I think they have turned out well; however, they are all 12%ish. I am a bit of a "cheap date" and would like to switch to hydromel/session meads. My question is: with the low ABV for session meads, do I need to sanitize the fruit before adding to secondary? I'm planning on a blueberry hydromel with frozen blueberries. My searches through the forums have not been very fruitful so far 😁
