Wanted to get your attention. Has anybody used powdered dishwashing detergent to clean a keg?

I have a Mark's keg washer and have used oxyclean and my recent keg still has a sort of film inside of it. I used a brush to remove deposits and rinsed thoroughly but it still seems dirty or oily.

Dishwashing soap is made for low foam and a good rinse should do the trick.

Just wanted to know if anybody tried this and failed miserably or was highly successful.

Cheers

Powdered dishwashing detergents contain surfactants, fragrance and typically chlorine compounds. The surfactants and fragrance are possible negative contributors to your beer and the chlorine compounds, at least over the long run, are no friend to your stainless steel. The film on your keg may be a mineral deposit. Try cleaning with an acid solution (vinegar, phosphoric, lactic, Star-San) post Oxyclean and see if that takes care of it.

I just saw a video about using pbw on northern brewer. I might start using it on everything. My bucket is turning brown in the inside from stout and other brown ales plus it will work on my kegs.
