Just picked up a 5 gallon stainless steel fermentor from these guys. My first impression was "awesome!" It is well built and looks like it'll last forever. So far I've put two batches through it and I like it way more then a glass carboy. Easier to move, change temps, clean, drain, agitate, etc. I'm very happy with this product. Plus they sent me a t-shirt but then again it was my birthday. As my hobby grows I will likely get another one so I can split batches. It is Monet well spent!

+1

I'm singing their praises on another thread right now. Here's mine:

Do you guys boil in them as well? These look nice, but dang at the price!

Looks like a mini ball valve and a thermowell to me.

Exactly. Yes, it is expensive (about $135), but I personally think its worth it. Put it this way, I've blown a lot more than $135 on crap I now regret - but this stainless fermenter is one item I will always use. I don't boil in it (although you could), mainly because I want to separate the trub before it goes into the fermenter.

I have a valve in mine. I'd like to rig something up so I can drain the trub from the bottom through the valve. In any case the thing is BOSS and I'm loving putting brews through it knowing I won't drop it, it's less likely to be contaminated, easy access, etc. if you have some extra cash by all means grab one!
