They are made out of plastic right? If so, then no. You should use a glass carboy with minimal headspace. It think glass is always preferred over plastic for secondarys since plastic lets some oxygen in. And I do not think the water jugs can be used for fermenting because they are not the right type of plastic. You can tell by the number on the bottom, maybe someone can add some info on what is the right types of plastic. I'm on my phone.
