i have a question that i think i already know the answer to......does hard cider need to be in brown bottles or can it be bottled in clear or green bottles?.....what i'm asking is does sun light effect the taste of it?

Sunlight will not skunk it. Skunking occurs when isomerized hop oils are exposed to sunlight. If there's no hops in your cider (never heard of a hopped cider) then it will not skunk. I'll add the disclaimer that it's conceivable that sunlight could cause a change in other compounds present in your cider and create off flavors that way, but it would not be the same as skunking.

Clear bottles are fine for cider. As Captain Damage said, sunlight reacts with the hop oils so unless your cider is a graff then you will be fine.
