After several weeks at room temperature could a purged server connected to a fermenter, and under pressure, begin to develop undesirable qualities because it is unrefrigerated? Would there be enough organic matter transferring through the C02 exhaust through the server, that without the benefit of alcohol, microbial growth might become a problem?

Thanks for the reply ... yes, a filter

In the past I ran the output from the purging server's spunding valve into a bubbler bottle but recently allowed a couple fermentations to exhaust C02 directly into open air - then got to thinking, could gnats have gotten into the spunding valve exit port? Sure enough, found one there.

Just seems like with a strong smell of fermentation coming from the server's exhaust line it's possible to imagine there might be traces of organic matter being deposited inside that could set the stage for a problem at room temp
