Since I have a birthday coming up I get to spend some money according to the contract with SWMBO I am allowed to spend some money.

Plus throwing a heat shield underneath as suggested. Before ordering I just want to idiot check this to make sure I am getting the right thing. Is option 4 the right one to use for a keggle? Does anyone have a reason to buy http://www.brewhardware.com/thermometers/135-cdn-remote-probe the remote probe instead of the straight thermometer?
