Hey all - here's what I'm thinking. Any tips would be appreciated. Going by the Mad Fermentationist regarding coffee addition:

All Grain (5.5 gal)
OG: 1.064
IBU: 40.4
SRM: 32.1
ABV: 6.4%

  • 9lbs 8 oz - Marris Otter
  • 2lbs - Flaked Oats
  • 1lb - Chocolate Malt
  • 8oz - Roasted Barley
  • 8oz - Crystal 80L
  • 1oz - Chinook (60 min)
  • .5oz - Willamette (15 min)
  • Wyeast 1084 Irish Ale (w/starter)
  • 2oz coarse ground coffee beans in primary post-fermentation (muslin bag; 24hrs steep prior to kegging)
Let me know what you all think. Never brewed an AG stout before!

40 IBU's might be really bitter with the coffee addition.
Fair point. I adjusted the 60min addition to .5oz and replaced .5oz Willamette with .5oz Chinook. Now Beersmith is saying 27.4 IBUs. Might be a little on the low end?
