Only mead I ever dumped was a coffee mead. It was a 1-gallon test batch and even after 3 years was undrinkable. Just absolutely nasty, astringent is what I remember about it, but your mileage may vary. Oh, and I do love coffee, just so you know that wasn't the reason.
