Hi guys,

anyone saw that before with any yeast ?

I started with one pack of that yeast for my first starter. Had the yeast settle in the fridge for one night. Then got it up to room temperature, empty the liquid, then I shaked the yeast to make a second starter but it was not comming into a slurry as usual but was forming almost solid clumps….

I still put it on the stir plate last night now it looks like this…. Weird or not ?

First time using that yeast….

not weird, fairly common with hard flockers.

Also you can usually just let 007 sit for a while and it will flocculate pretty clear without putting in the fridge. A While could be as little as 5min if it was already flocking, might take an hour. If you decant and pitch/step up while still warm it will take off faster and might not be so clumpy.
