I don’t know if anyone else has done this. I am using a rifle bore snake to clean my dip tubes. I found the Otis Ripcord worked the best in .243 cal. The Otis didn’t have the copper or brass brushes as others do. I didn’t try the 6.5mm one, it might be a snugger fit. I bought this one for just cleaning the dip tubes.

Nuts. When I left the military I had cleaning kits for my M16 and M60. I gave them to friend. Hindsight....

Shake the keg good and depress the poppet, do the gas one too, let sit on side w oxidizer sit a few minutes, then repeat w sanitizer. Depress poppets and let cleaner solution shoot on out a few times. I use a 10" landscape spike, just 'cause I like a convenient tool I can see for each task.

None of this has to take much time, just working while wort is boiling, or if running distracted, after whirlpool while trub cone is settling. Same cleaner/sanitizer going anyway for plate cooler, O2 injector and clean up.

For initial keg cleaning or refurbish, soak take 'em all out (the dip tubes that is), replace O rings, and poppets if needed. Soak well in favorite oxidizer.

Something like this works too, esp for all the dry hoppers or refurbishing old neglected kegs; Beer Line Cleaning Brush - 3/8 in. x 48 in. | MoreBeer .

And if one regularly gets hops stuck in dip tube or poppets, I'd suggest one might want to reevaluate process in one's hopping steps eg, use a filter of some sort or hop bag..

I for one, would not want gun oil in my beer, or get keg debris in my bores.
