I've done a search but little results. Has anyone tried to put citrus zest in the Mash. I usually add toward end of boil, but read one recipe where a guy added to mash and said was his best one yet. Not sure I want to give this a try with only one thread mentioning it. Brewing up a lemon/rosemary wheat

Never tried it but I think you would lose most of the flavor over the course of your boil. I'd add toward the last 5-10 min of the boil

I dont see much of a problem if you do both, in the mash and boil. Could end up giving you a good citrus flavor. Im doing the same with a pale ale next weekend, if work doesn't interfere.

I would give it a try and see what happens, you can get a taste when you read your pre-boil gravity and if its just not there you can add more at flame out or dry hop with it
