Howdy from Denver.

So after making my first extract kit (the 80 shillings from northern brewer) I decided I'd give a shot at making my own extract recipe form scratch.

Here it is:

6 lbs of light malt extract
1/2 Lb of German Caramel Red Malt
1/2 Lb of British light crystal
1 oz Citra hops
1 oz Centenial hops
1 pouch safale 04

I will steep the grains on a low simmer for 15-20 minutes.
Add extract off the heat then return to a boil
Pitch 1\2 oz of the citra at the start and the rest 45 minutes into the boil
Chill with a ice water bath to 70-80*
Allow to ferment out for 1-1 1/2 weeks
Rack onto 1 oz centenial and let sit 2-3 weeks
And then bottle and allow to age 2+ months

What does everyone think? I'm really excited to be making a nice fruity light beer everyone I know can enjoy.

Update

This brew turned out great. I have 1 bottle left! I would seriouly consider doing it again. Thanks again for the tips! I didn't bother dry hoping and the citrus still came out great.
