I racked my cider from a secondary ferm. into 1 gallon plasctic jugs about a week ago. Yesterday I split one of them into 2 half gallon jugs. My friend wanted half a gallon which left me with the other half gallon. So I put it into the fridge. Later when I pulled it out, I noticed a thick white layer on the bottom and white chuncks all though it. There was very little lees from the 1 gallon jugs.
What is this stuff and where did it come from? Is it still safe to drink?
