My wife asked me to make a chocolate porter, I've done a little research and looked at a few recipes. But wanted to tweak them a bit and come up with my own. This is the first porter I have ever made but I figure I would give it a try.

Here is what I have come up with so far. Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated. And thank you In advance.

6 lbsAmerican 6-row Pale
.5 lbs Munich
.5 lbs crystal 30
.5 lbs crystal 70
.5 lbs crystal 120
1.5 lbs Chocolate Wheat Malt
.5 lbs Roasted Barley
.5 lb cararoma
.25 lbsOats Flaked
.25 lbsLactose

1 ozNorthern Brewer - 8.0 AA% pellets; boiled 60 min
.5 ozFuggle - 4.8 AA% pellets; boiled 20 min
.5 ozFuggle - 4.8 AA% pellets; boiled 10 min
.25 cCocoa powder in secondary ( or cocoa nibs)

Yeast,
Wyeast 1332 or Safale us-05

Taste cocoa powder in hot water 1st, I think it's nasty, and recommend nibs.

I have a Robust Chocolate porter I did, it is awesome.

Here's my porter recipe, it's pretty basic but it tastes great.

9lbs Maris Otter
1lb crystal 60
1/2 lb chocolate malt
1/4 lb black patent

1oz fuggles 60 min.
1oz fuggles 30 min.
1oz fuggles 10 min.
Wyeast 1099
