I have a CDN ProAccurate probe thermometer (the kind that has a digital face attached to a 6ish-inch probe.
For heating up my strike water, would it be effective and safe for the thermometer to leave the probe stuck into the water via a hole in the lid of my kettle?
How far do I need to insert the thermometer into the water to ensure accurate reading?
