hey first year hop grower here and I'm having some problems with my cascade hops. The bottom of the plant's leaves are browing and dying, while the tops have lots of holes in them. I got a picture of some bug on them, but don't know if he's eating the plant. Also I think a whitefly flew out when i shook the plant.

I notice some browning on the outside of the leaf...I would make sure you dont water when the sun is on them because the water drops will act as a magnifying glass and burn your leaves like this.
In regards to your bugs, it looks like grasshoppers...and actually there is a bug on one of the leaves! You could get a pesticide to keep them off, but I recommend an old trick to kill them off that is completely natural....lighlty spray you plants with water, after all of the plants are wet, lighlty dust them with baking flour....this wont kill the plant, but will kill anything that eats it...when a bug gets a mouth full of leaf laced with baking flour, the water in the leaf and the baking flour turn to glue and basically glue the bug's mouth shut!
