Hello Everyone,

I bottled my Boulder Street Wheat 9 days ago. It spent 9 days in the primary and 14 days in the secondary. I added quite a bit of honey at bottling and when I opened one, it blew the cap like a champagne cork. I haven't lost any bottles, but I was wondering if carbonation might break some of my bottles if it hasn't done so in 9 days. I don't want to make a mess of my house, so what are the chances the bottles will blow after 9 days?

edit: ***i used about 8 oz honey by weight in a 5 gallon batch.

Sounds like you are at the top end of carbonation. If they are not gushing out of the bottle when you pop them open then you probably are ok. If it makes you nervous then chill them all down for storage and drink them.
