Hi I'm new at brewing and need a helping hand.

After primary I rack my brew into a PET carboy (11 liters). My question is, can I carbonate my brew in that carboy, and after a few weeks place it in the fridge? I have a spigot on it.

Any tips, pros or cons?

Thanks

since better bottles typically compress during cold crashing (sometimes drawing the starsan inside from the airlock), i'd guess they are not pressure tested/pressure rated. i would NOT advocate doing this. that said, people have success using 2L soda bottles as mini kegs- although these bottles ARE pressure tested (obviously, as they come with carbonated beverages inside them)
