I have a KAB6 burner like this

I'm trying to automate this burner with a PID controller and a Honeywell furnace valve.

I know I need to drill out the orifice at the burner to work with low pressure propane. My question is can I use the existing hose to connect the burner to the Honeywell valve? Or must I purchase a new larger diameter hose?

Also, What's the best location on the burner to mount the pilot?

You should be OK wit that hose, you will need a different regulator. If you look in my Brutus 20 build you can see how I had my pilot burner set up.
