Can I process whole kernal corn for brewing with my barley crusher?

Went out with swmbo today to a Amish grocery store where I bought 2 lbs of yellow kernal corn for about $1.00. Would like to know if I could use this in place of flaked corn in light hybrid recipes? I have a barley crusher on hand to use to process the corn.

Any thoughts, advice or warnings?

You'd have to do a cereal mash to gelatinize the starches.

Is the cereal mash something that is done prior to the large mashing of all of the grains together?

Yes, you will want to cereal mash prior to adding to mash. I have never persnonally tried it but it is on the list of things to try. I just purchased some flakes wheat at a similar store and will cereal mash it. John Palmer discusses in his book and there is more of a German conversion in the wiki below!
