Right now I don't have time to do kits that require boiling so I'm going to be doing some Cooper's kits. I returned my turkey fryer so I can get a heavier duty kettle, so I don't have a large volume container to keep my top-up water in. Normally I treat my water before I do anything by adding a crushed campden tablet to 6.5 gallons of water in my Cooper's fermenter.
Will this same process work if I top-up the fermenter with tap water after adding the extract and adjuncts, and then add the campden before pitching the yeast? I guess if it won't I'll pickup a cheap food grade bucket from Home Depot.
