I am trying to calculate the IBU of a Pilsner recipe. The hop package list the AA as a range,

Example - Check Saaz The listed AA 2.9 - 5.0 %

Similarly the Parle hops have an AA range of 7.0 - 9.5 %

What number do I use in the calculator? Low median or high?

Your thoughts?

OK. That makes sense. I have yet to purchase the hops. Doing that tomorrow but figuring the recipe today. The hops I am buying are Hopunion and I was getting the info on AA% from their website. If the individual package has the actual AA on it then I will be fine.

Thanks!

The package will list what the actual is, not a range.
