Hi All
I don't live in the US, and my city Water report doesn't include the Alkalinity parameter, i have Hardness, Calcium and Magnesium.
According to john Palmer's book for determine the Beer Style I need to Calculate the RA (Residual alkalinity) with this formula:
RA = Total Alkalinity – ((Calcium/3.5) + (Magnesium/7))
but I don't have the Alkalinity parameter (or total Alkalinity - how do you calculate it?).
Can I calculate according to the parameters I have the Alkalinity?

Alas, no. If you also have data on sulfate, chloride, sodium and pH it is possible to estimate it. With only hardness about the best you can do is assume that it is equal to the total hardness but that is very rough. It is simple to test for alkalinity though. Kits are sold by aquarium hobby and swimming pool suppliers.

Thanks
I will try to get the other parameters and I will check the alkalinity testing kit.
