Hey guys, I was at the new Harry Potter theme park this weekend, and recorded a review of Butterbeer while I was there. Check it out below!

I think this one would be pretty easy to clone. It's basically cream soda with butterscotch syrup and whipped topping.

Isn't the butterbeer in the books slightly alcoholic (or at least intoxicating)?

Lots of diacetyl will give a butterscotch flavor (anything less than 'lots' will give a buttered popcorn flavor). And maybe some wheat in the grist and either wheat or Belgian yeast for a big, fluffy head.

Hmm, didn't think of that. The beasties would eat up all the diacetyl precursors. So it'll have to be a poorly-brewed lager. But how to get the big frothy head without adding whpped cream? Or do a Belgian/wheat yeast with a lot of caramel malts and hope for the best.
