Looking at what I have on hand I decided to try a brown ale. I don't have a whole lot of hops on hand so this will be a very low hop beer, plus I've done so many IPAs lately I would like to taste something other than hops for a change!

5 Gallons

8Lbs Pale
1Lbs C60
.5Lbs Special B
.25 Roasted Barley
.25 Chocolate Malt

Mash 152F for 60min

60min boil
.5oz Columbus FWH
1/4 table spoon Irish Moss 10 min
.5oz Flame Out

Wyeast 1332

OG 1.049
27 IBU
24 SRM
4.9% EST. Abv

Thanks Guys!

grain bill looks great to me, going to be on the darker side of the brown ale spectrum but that's a matter of personal taste. 27 IBU is still a pretty healthy bit of hops for the style.

Finally brewed this today and it turned out darker that I thought it would, im wondering if this will be more like a porter than a brown ale because of the roast malt.

some brown ales are on the darker side, and I'm sure it won't have quite the rich roastiness of a porter or stout.

Sounds good to me. Could be porterlike though, they aren't as roasty as stouts (and sometimes aren't roasty at all.)

I predict deliciousness, in any event.
