I'm 20 brews in, so I'm not sure if I'm a beginner or not, but I broke an erlenmeyer flask and two airlocks in about 15 minutes today. It wasn't even a brew or keg day.

How did you break the airlocks?

I was trying to change a blowoff tube. I just stick the blowoff hose onto the airlock tube. I put the new one on and it was sitting kind of wonky, so I adjusted the airlock and cracked the outside part. Then, I was trying to remove the dirty hose from the dirty airlock, and the whole middle tube broke right out of the main vessel.

Changing the blowoff tube was the worst decision I made this week. Cheers :mug:

If that was a 3 piece airlock, i would just designate it just for a blowoff tube.
i have used a 3 piece airlock for this ( less the innards ) could not get the
tubing off the center, said why fight it. goot luck ... :beard:

I picked one up just for that purpose earlier today.
