Guys:

I am bottling my first brew its kind of an American Pale Ale. This was my first all grain batch and I didn't really do it correctly. I didn't adjust my sparge water to collect 6.5 gallons before the boil. So needless to say I ended up with about 5.75 gallons before boil and 4.75 gallons in the primary.

I know how much sugar to prime with but how much water should i boil it in to dissolve it?

Also just got done brewing my second a Brown Ale everything went great this time got the whole 6.5 gallons before boil.

I use one ounce of corn sugar per gallon, usually, for American style beers. I've used 4 ounces for 5 gallons, and been happy with it, so you may want to use 4 ounces or 4 1/2 ounces to be safe. I boil two cups of water and then dissolve the sugar in it and boil a minute or two.
