Bottle OK?

I got some bottles from a friend who isn’t brewing anymore. There are two of them that have some discoloration and it appears to be on the outside. I cannot clean it. Is this OK to use?

If you are sure it is on the outside. If there is any doubt at all that it is only on the outside I would not risk it.

I looks like glue remnants from a label to me. As long as it's on the outside only, I'd use it. BUt, as above, if you're unsure, just chuck it.

Sometimes really old glass gets wear lines right about there from bottles being beside each other and rubbing. Having said that I agree with the others, if you're sure it's on the outside you should be good. Hard for us to tell in a photo but looks like outside. Sometimes watching as you turn can help you figure out if inside or outside.

Thanks all. There were 3 like that. I used one of the bottles to see if it would be ok.
