Hi, I'm Julie, an ex-pat Scot living in rural, central France. I live on our organic smallholding where we try to be as self sufficient as possible. We make all our own booze- beer, wine (country wines using fruits etc not grapes!) gin, pastis and other spirits as well as kefir, kombucha etc. I make the wines , hubby brews beers and distils. I recently started a batch of short mead as we were recently given a bottle of mead from the Stone Circle meadery in Wiltshire, UK, their Beltane recipe, which was amazing especially as I have thought for years that I didn't like mead having tasted some awful sweet stuff decades ago!
Looking forward to some interesting discoveries and discussions.
À bientôt,
Julie.

Hello all. I haven't made mead in years because, it just didn't taste right. But I got interested again in small batch brews. I found some mead I made, not labeled but it was great brandy. So I'm looking for lavender mead recipe. I was following one and lost th track. So back to the search.
