Blowoff Tubing

Howdy.

I plan on brewing today or tomorrow (Christmas) and need a blowoff hose for an active and overly-hopped brew. I need OD 1 1/4" and ID 1". I have no local brew shops but there are hardware shops that have this size vinyl tubing.

Question: does this tubing need to be food grade? I'm pretty sure the stuff at the hardware store is not.

For a blowoff tube, in a pinch, I've used the stuff you can get at lowes with no issues. As long as you sanitize it you should be fine.

I always use the clear tubing you get from the box stores in the plumbing isle. This stuff is made to carry drinking water, so it shouldn't have any toxins.
